Tell the Truth

Image
Why are you here? Does your daily behavior reflect  your highest priorities? Or are you trying to be something or someone you are not?  Admittedly these are tough questions, but if you are going  to rely on the Fun Factor to achieve maximum success, you’ve got to be clear on what’s “negotiable” and what’s not. Your humor nature will not fabricate on your behalf. Humor always tells the truth, which is why it’s so unwelcome in some segments of society. So if you are trying to be someone you are not, your humor  nature will trip you up. It knows and respects you too well to  misrepresent you. Your humor nature is exactly who you are. It is the part of  you that you did not create. It is the part of you that you will never improve upon, because there is no need for improvement. You are wonderful just as you are. Why settle for less than your unique perfection? Be true to yourself. Trust yourself. Get in the habit of asking  “Am I being honest with myself?” If you are not sure o

How I overcame my social anxiety.

Image
For years I have suffered from social anxiety. I would always avoid interacting with other people and I generally had low self-esteem and felt like no one liked me. I have made dramatic progress and really feel that now I have overcame this problem and can socialize with people normally. Over the last 5-6 years I have read probably 200 books on self-esteem and social anxiety. I have went to 3 different CBT therapists on separate occasions as well. Ultimately though it was through my own determination and hard work that I managed to overcome this problem. I feel like this is a problem that you really need to take responsibility for yourself, other people can guide and help you but you are the one that will determine how successful you are. Okay, so here is what I have learned: Social Anxiety is the  fear of social rejection  (other people disliking you or looking down on you). Every human being is afraid of social rejection, but most don't think it is a likely thing to

No Regrets

Image
Live your life in a manner that leaves you with no regrets in the end. If you want to take a risk, but aren’t sure what to do, ask yourself if you’ll regret the decision later. The saddest thing to hear about is someone who regrets the things they never did. There will come a time when you can’t try and try again. Great Things Lie Ahead Besides the ‘seize the day’ ideas to get motivated, think about what has been accomplished and what could be accomplished if you set your mind to doing something. People have built empires on pure ambition and belief, men and women have single-handedly changed the course of history. Who knows what heights you could reach if you focused your time and energy on one aim. The only way you’ll ever know is if you go out there and get to work! Manipulation vs. Motivation Motivation is healthy, positive, and necessary in every area of your life. Manipulation is damaging, negative, and never necessary. Be care-ful not to confuse the two. Whether yo

Super Mario 64 - Bob-omb Battlefield crafted from Lego

Image
"Bob-omb Battlefield is the first stage of Super Mario 64 - the flagship game for the N64 game system. This game came out way back when I was just a freshman in college, and I have great memories of endless game nights with friends playing this game.  I’ve had the idea of doing a Super Mario layout for a while, but just what to do escaped me. (Lego versions of the original NES games have been done quite often). Upon finding my old N64 in ‘storage’, I was inspired to create this.”  By  Matt De Lanoy
