Set Your Goals

We make decisions based on our own experiences that have shaped us – our beliefs and our perception of what we define as reality.

If you want your life to be different then you need to make it happen… because no one else will do it for you.

1. Do you know your Why?

We are emotional beings and we will always choose comfort over discomfort. You must overcome the resistance of your subconscious mind to get you out of your comfort zone on a daily basis.

Who do you want to be?

You need to have strong enough vision why doing something is important to you. You need a strong emotional charge, because it will enable you to get out of your comfort zone.

2. Set goals and take action

Knowledge by itself is worthless if you don’t put it into practice. You can have all the information on how to become fit, but if you don’t do the work, and start with one push up a day so you can one day do 100 push-ups or more, all that knowledge won’t help you.

Take consistent action on a daily basis.

There will be critics and naysayers who will tell you what you cannot do, and what you’re supposed to do. It’s ok; that’s their reality, but it doesn’t have to be yours. Believe in yourself and what you want to achieve. Set high goals for yourself and think big.

3. ‘’You’re the average of five people you spent the most time with.’’

    - Jim Rohn

If the people you’re currently spending time with do not have similar life goals, it is time for you to make a decision and choose a new tribe. This might sound cold and calculated, but you are the one who has to decide what you want out of life.

When you spend time with people who share your ideas and goals, they provide you a challenge on a daily basis. And the same goes for the each individual within the group.

It’s the feeling of being worthy to be around such remarkable people that gives you the strength to endure and helps you to move forward.

4. Invest in yourself

Here’s the deal. If you are watching your favourite TV series, or aimlessly browsing around Facebook pages, Instagram, Netflix, Twitter (this goes for Quora or any other social media platform), then you are wasting your precious time, while you’re observing other people do what they enjoy doing.

I know that people are busy watching kittens on YouTube. Are you doing it too? Stop it. Your time is the biggest asset you have. Respect it, and use it wisely.

What you can do today, to improve your life?
Take a pen and paper (yes, old school), and write down how much time you spent doing things that are not contributing to your future success. Simply note how much time you spent on watching TV series, movies, aimlessly browsing around internet, Facebook, etc.

Unless that is your job, or your passion and you’re paid for doing that, stop it.

Instead, ask yourself what you want to improve in your life. What do you want your future to look like? What would you like to be known for? What motivates you? What inspires you?

All you have to do is to write down the answer to those questions, and your life will start to change in the most positive way you can imagine.

5. Change your limiting beliefs

Money is neither good nor bad, but is more about what you do with it. Instead of being bound to the scarcity mindset, change your belief about money. In its essence, money is energy. If you do something good for someone, and if they paid you with money or other resources, that is an exchange of energy.

Think of all the good things you can do, and changes you can make. Think of it like freedom, opportunity, possibility, and abundance. You have the right to have as much as you want, as long as you are willing to create a massive value for others. So, feel good about this.

Life is about sharing information and helping others. You grow larger and achieve more when you share. When Benjamin Franklin was asked why he didn’t copyright or trademark the lightning rod, he said, “Some things are just meant to be shared.”

You need to develop your mindset, necessary skills that guides you through life in a smart and effective way. Whatever there is that you want to do, be it 100 push-ups, travel around the world, start a non-profit organization, create an App, or whatever there is, you have to start right now. If you are willing to do that then you will achieve what you want.

It’s yours. Life wants it for you, but you have to put some effort into that.
