Be Positive
1) Little things
It’s all about the little things. Starting from appreciating them more. Like a smile from a stranger, a hug from a loved one. A day without stress, a day without pain. A quite moment in peace. Waking up rested. Wearing comfortable clothes that keep you warm in those winter days. And noticing those little things in life. Cause your life is full of them. You just don’t look at it or you keep it for granted. Be grateful.
2) Attitude
"I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I react to it. - Amanda Oosthuizen" Life will throw bad things at you but it’s all about how you handle it. If you still try to make the best out of it. You do have the power to change bad moments. Your thoughts and your mind has power to change your mood. Interrupt your negative thoughts and force yourself to think something positive. Watch your language and thoughts and it will be exhausting but remind yourself to do it and you will see your mood will be better with less negativity.
3) Smile
Your brain doesn’t care if you smile out of happiness or without a reason. But your body language affects your mood and visa versa. So if you are sitting there sad with your shoulders hanging down, your brain gets told that you are not doing good and is sending out sad impulses. But if you sit up straight with a smile (even when it’s fake) your body is telling your brain that you’re feeling good and the brain is sending happy impulses. Which mean even when you’re feeling bad you can trick your brain and yourself into believe that you are feeling good and then you are actually going to feel better!
4) Feelings
The goal is to become happier. But never forget that happiness is just one out of all the feelings that you can feel and it not goes about being happy 24/7 because that’s impossible. All those other feelings like gratefulness, joy, peace, sadness, disappointment, frustration, fear etc., negative and positive ones makes us whole. And they are neccessary to live life fully.
5) Rely on yourself
Don’t rely on someone else for your happiness and self-worth. Because then you need their constantly attention if you done something great and you wait for their compliments to feel good. But be proud of yourself and celebrete your accomplishments even when they are little, even when no one saw them. Of course it’s wonderful when other people acknowledge your hard work and it’s nice to hear compliments because it makes us feel better. But don’t rely your happiness on this attention.
6) Be active
Spend some time outside, breathe the fresh air. Fill your body with energy and sunlight. Go for a walk, ride a bike, run, swim, dance, sing, meditate. Play a board game. Create something, knit, sew, make funiture. Take a bath, light a candle. Give yourself a massage or get one. Eat healthy, sleep enough and listen to your body.
7) Don’t compare
Don’t compare your body, weight or life. Embrace your own beauty. Remember that just because someone is thinner doesn’t mean they are happier and just because someone is bigger doesn’t mean they are unhealthy. Health and happiness can’t be measured with weight and the number should not define you. And just because someone reached something in their life what you would like to have to, doesn’t mean that you are a failure. You have your own way and it will be successful if you believe so. Don’t compare your chapter 1 to their chapter 4. Don’t let your mind trick you by believe everyone else is happier and better than you. You just see what they decide to show. Don’t compare your inside to their outside.
8) Love yourself
Love yourself. Your whole being, your body, your mind. Think about all the time you spent hating your body and imagine how much better you would feel when you would take all this time to appreciate your body and when you would spend all those minutes trying to love yourself instead of hating yourself. You will have this body for the rest of your life, make peace with it and don’t waste your time hating and fighting. Your beauty exist even when you can’t see it.
9) Change
Be open for change. Be spontaneous and try out new things. Make mistakes and fail and realise that life goes on. Stand up and remember that each day is a new start. But also be aware that change takes time.
